Introducing srgnt

A desktop-first personal command center for engineers and engineering managers. Here's why we built it, what it does, and who it's for.

Introducing srgnt

After years of watching engineers and engineering managers juggle Jira, Outlook, Teams, and a dozen other tools every day, we decided to do something about it.

The Problem

Context switching is the hidden tax on engineering productivity. Every hour spent navigating between apps is an hour not spent building, reviewing, or thinking. And for engineering managers, the problem compounds — you’re tracking projects in Jira, your calendar in Outlook, messages in Teams, and somewhere in there you’re supposed to actually do the work.

What if there was a single view that brought all of this together?

What srgnt Does

srgnt connects to Jira, Outlook Calendar, and Microsoft Teams, then normalizes everything into a unified daily view. You get:

  • A daily briefing — AI-generated summary of what matters today across all your tools
  • Canonical entities — Tasks, events, messages, people, and artifacts normalized across sources
  • A skills system — Extensible automation that adapts to your workflow
  • Full terminal access — PTY integration so you never have to leave the app

Everything runs locally. Your data stays on your machine.

Fred: The AI Layer

Fred is our optional AI orchestration layer. It runs on top of your normalized data and can generate briefings, suggest follow-ups, and help you prepare for meetings — without sending your work data to a third-party AI provider.

What’s Next

We’re building in public. The desktop app is in active development. Follow along here for updates.
